From Spotland to Sprotbrough

After a traffic free drive Eastward along the M62, cutting through the morning mist and rain, worship music flowing through the air, we arrive in the historic market town of Barnsley for our first surprise visit. It was a surprise to them too , they were attending a function a 100 miles away!

It was no problem, God is God in all circumstances.

An hour later I find myself on an Aldi car park outside Doncaster with the Holy Spirit urging me to speak to a thickset man, heavily tattooed with arms like tree trunks!

Greater is He that is in me , than that, that is in the world.  2 Timothy 1 :7

So I do and a conversation is struck up. A short time later it’s established that we know some of the same people, turns out I know some of his work colleagues, but this wasn’t a job interview. It was A GOD_INCIDENCE!

I find a way and give my shortened testimony, he exclaims ”That is so like me, I am 49 too, and I’ve just been to the doctors yesterday, I’m so worried, Jesus Christ !”

“That is just whom I wish to speak to you about“ I reply. I continued to tell him what Jesus did and what he needs to do. A prayer and a quick run through some literature and we go our separate ways.

All glory to God.

These encounters, God has ready for us all the time , the Holy Spirit is trying to prompt us to spread the Good News, to glorify God, all we have to do is listen, be ready, be prepared to be led.

Then for me and Bertie it was onto a lovely little place named Sprotborough on the side of the canal and the River Don.

God bless!
